This policy explains how I-M Plumbing & Gas Engineering Limited, trading as Emergency Plumber London (“we”, “us”), collects and uses your personal data when you use this website, contact us or book our services. We are the data controller for this information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address, postcode and address when you call, message, book or ask for a price.
- Job details — a description of the problem, photos you send us, preferred dates and times, and notes about access to the property.
- Payment records — invoices and payment confirmations. We do not store full card numbers; card payments are handled by our payment provider.
- Website data — basic technical logs kept by our hosting provider (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure. If we enable analytics, we use a cookie-free service that does not identify you.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to enquiries, give quotes and carry out work — necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform that contract.
- To send booking confirmations and service updates — performance of a contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation.
- To handle complaints, guarantee claims and protect our legal rights — legitimate interests.
- To keep the website secure and working — legitimate interests.
We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed with:
- our engineers and sub-contractors (including the Gas Safe registered engineers who carry out our gas work) so they can attend your job;
- service providers who run our website, forms and email (for example our hosting provider and our email delivery provider);
- our accountants, insurers and professional advisers; and
- authorities where the law requires it.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum to protect it.
Third-party content
Our map is provided by Google and only loads if you choose to open it. Google reviews shown on this site are supplied by Google. WhatsApp links open WhatsApp, which is run by WhatsApp LLC under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 12 months.
- Customer, job and invoice records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, to meet HMRC requirements and handle guarantee claims.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email info@emergencyplumber.london. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
