24/7 emergency service

Burst pipe? Turn off the stopcock — we’ll do the rest.

A burst pipe can soak a floor in minutes. Our plumbers are on call 24 hours a day across London to stop the leak, cut out the damaged section and get your water back on.

Quick answer

If a pipe bursts, turn off the water at your stopcock (usually under the kitchen sink), switch off electrics near the water and open your cold taps to drain the system. Then call 07718 185128. Most burst pipes are repaired on the first visit; our published price for a burst pipe repair is £50–£140 inc. VAT.

When to call

Signs you need help with burst pipes

  • Water spraying or pouring from a pipe, joint or flexi hose
  • A wet patch spreading across a ceiling or wall
  • A sudden drop in water pressure with the sound of running water
  • Frozen pipes in a loft, garage or on an outside wall
  • Water coming through a light fitting (switch off the electrics first)

Our process

How we fix it

  1. 01

    Isolate

We find the burst and isolate that section so the rest of the property can have water back.

  2. 02

    Cut out

The split or corroded length is cut out and the pipe ends prepared.

  3. 03

    Replace

New copper or push-fit pipe and fittings are installed to current standards.

  4. 04

    Test

We restore the supply, pressure-test the repair and check neighbouring joints for weeps.

FAQs

Burst pipe repair: your questions answered

What should I do while I wait for the plumber?

Turn the stopcock clockwise until it stops, switch off electrics if water is near sockets or lights, open cold taps and flush toilets to drain the system, then move valuables and take photos for your insurer.

Where is my stopcock?

In most London homes it is under the kitchen sink, in a downstairs cupboard or near the front door. In flats it can be in the hallway cupboard or riser. If you cannot find it, call us and we will talk you through it.

How long does a burst pipe repair take?

An accessible burst pipe usually takes one to two hours. A burst behind tiles, in a stud wall or under a floor takes longer because we need to open up access first.

Will my insurance cover a burst pipe?

Many home insurance policies cover escape-of-water damage. Take photos before you clear up and keep our invoice — your insurer will usually ask for both. Check your policy for the details.
