No hot water? Let’s find out why.
Whether you have a combi, a cylinder, an immersion heater or an unvented system, we will trace why the hot water has stopped and get it running again.
Quick answer
No hot water usually comes from a boiler fault, a failed immersion heater element, a tripped thermostat, or a faulty diverter valve in a combi. Check the boiler display, timer and immersion switch first. If it is still cold, call 07718 185128. Hot water tank replacement is typically £350–£550.

FAQs
Hot water & cylinders: your questions answered
Why do I have heating but no hot water?
In a combi boiler this often points to a faulty diverter valve. With a cylinder system, it is usually the cylinder thermostat, a motorised valve or the timer settings.
How do I know if my immersion heater has failed?
If the switch is on, the fuse is fine and the water stays cold after a couple of hours, the element or its thermostat has probably failed. Both can be replaced.
What is an unvented cylinder?
An unvented cylinder is fed directly from the mains, giving better pressure without a loft tank. It has safety devices that must be checked regularly by a qualified engineer.
